Privacy policy

go-xo.com is a free browser game. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no forms — we never ask you for a name, an email address or any other personal detail, so there is nothing of that kind for us to store.

The one thing we do use is anonymous traffic statistics, and even those stay switched off until you agree to them. This page explains exactly what that means.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It records things like the page address, the referring site, an approximate region, and the browser and device type. It does not record your name, your email or anything you type — the game itself runs entirely in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.

Your game settings — the board size, difficulty and mode — stay in your own browser. They are never sent to us.

Cookies and your choice

Analytics cookies are set to denied by default, using Google Consent Mode v2. If you are in the EU, the UK, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, you will see a banner asking for your decision, and nothing is stored until you answer it.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies and we see normal aggregated statistics. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set at all; Google may still count the visit in an anonymous, cookieless form, which cannot identify you or follow you across sites.

We do not run advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share data with anyone beyond the analytics processing described here. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage and you can change it whenever you like:

Other services

The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) in order to deliver the page and protect against abuse. Some pages link out to other games we run; once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Because we hold no account data, there is normally nothing personal to access, correct or delete. If you are in the EEA or the UK and want to ask about the analytics data associated with your visit, or you want it removed, write to us and we will deal with it.
